A very big thank you to all our patient patients and hard-working staff following a very busy and successful flu & COVID vaccination weekend!

We’d also like to thank those patients who were able to walk in, helping to ease parking pressures – it was much appreciated.

Both days ran smoothly overall, with just a short queue mid-morning at Wistaria on Sunday. We apologise for the wait. This was mainly due to questions around COVID vaccine eligibility and couples arriving together but with different appointment times, which added a little extra time to the booking process.

Please remember that vaccine eligibility is decided by NHS England, not by us. We are unable to vaccinate those who are no longer eligible under the current criteria – and this year, NHS staff are not eligible for COVID vaccination unless they meet other criteria.

Some patients have asked why we run these clinics at weekends. By holding vaccination clinics on weekends, we reduce the number of weekday GP and nurse appointments lost. We use Sundays at Wistaria to avoid clashes with the Saturday market and do our best with planning and staffing to make things run smoothly.

In total, over 2,600 patients received their vaccines – an amazing start to the autumn season. Huge thanks again to the entire Wistaria & Milford staff team, who worked tirelessly over two very busy days.
