Marie Mudie

Numerous friends and acquaintances will be saddened to learn of the death of Marie Mudie, a very prominent figure in our community over many years, serving on various committees and well known for her efficient organisational abilities. She spent much of her time fundraising in support of Friends of Wistaria Surgery and the RNLI and organising social occasions. She was always present at the surgery for the flu vaccination clinics and in charge of the magnificent raffles held at the surgery twice annually. She loved the theatre and was Chairman of the Theatregoers Group. A long-term member of the Lymington Players amongst other things, she helped actors to learn their words and was the continuity girl for many years. With all these attributes she never wanted to be in the public eye, but always behind the scenes beavering away. She loved her garden and the birds who came to her doorstep regularly to be fed. To me she was a great friend. Heartfelt condolences are sent to her daughter Sarah and family.

Marie requested that, rather than flowers, she would prefer donations to Friends of Wistaria Surgery which can be made direct to HSBC Bank, 40-30-36, Account No. 91343750 or, if preferred, a cheque sent c/o Wistaria Surgery, 18 Avenue Road,Lymington SO41 9GJ.
